This week: Amazon Deep Lens is now in GA. Fully integrated with SageMaker, it lets Devs use ML to build facial and object recognition systems; AWS Landing Zone helps account Admins easily set up secure, multi-account environments; Daemon Scheduling for ECS lets Devs run daemon tasks in their Docker containers without scripting; New Private APIs for API Gateway let you restrict API traffic to your VPC; we choose a winner for our 2018 AWS re:Invent ticket giveaway, and we announce our Guru of the Week.

This Week: Amazon announce two new EC2 instance types: the i3.metal, ideal for high-performance workloads or applications that cannot run in a virtualized environment; and the C5d, which is configured with local SSD block storage and is ideal for apps that rely on high-speed storage. The ALB now supports a Slow Start Algorithm that allows targets to warm up before accepting requests. Early-bird tickets are still available for ACG’s Serverlessconf 2018 in San Francisco. And we announce our Guru of the Week winner!
